Details

  • Department: Regional Float (System Staffing Office)
  • Schedule: Days, Afternoons and Night shifts available (May work 8 or 12 hours shifts)
  • Hours: Minimum 36 hours a month. 16 hours on the weekend shift a month required, and 2 holidays a year required.
  • Hospital: Multiple
  • Location: Multiple

This position requires travel to 3 hospitals in system of your choice:

Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit
Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Oakland Center in Madison Heights
Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren
Ascension River District Hospital in East China

Ascension Providence Hospital, Novi Campus in Novi
Providence Hospital, Southfield Campus in Southfield

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

Work Experience: 18 months experience preferred (Med/Surg or Tele); 2 years for specialty units (ie: ED, OR, OB, ICU, L&D)
