What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern position at Ascensus?
POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Intern performs information technology administrative support, help desk monitoring, equipment repair, field work, and management of IT policies and procedures. IT Intern will be responsible for quickly evaluating information and communicating issues to help resolve them efficiently and effectively. IT Intern will provide company-wide software and hardware support, and will be utilized to work on projects as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (may include by are not limited to)
- Monitor support tickets from inception to successful resolution
- Communicate with users proactively about local maintenance, technology issues, and other items of interest
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email and instant message - foster a culture of clear communication with the team and computer end-users
- Manage and cultivate relationships with vendors
- Coordinate set-up of all new hires hardware and software including acquiring, documenting, and assigning equipment
- Maintain company property receipts for all assigned portable equipment
- Manage email distribution lists, permissions, and access to group inboxes
- Provide basic troubleshooting and technical repair for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices
- Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware and software
- Research, develop and document policies, procedures and support information
- Utilize product knowledge to offer software and hardware improvement suggestions
- Complete special projects as assigned by management
BASIC/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working toward a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or Associate’s degree in computer science or related field
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills

- Self-motivated, eager to learn and grow
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Team oriented, willing to help out where needed
