As an urban planner, you have a passion for developing comprehensive plans, housing elements, specific plans, and zoning updates; engaging with the communities they affect; and collaborating with the agencies that implement them. You thrive where the community interfaces with government forums where passions flare, needs are realized, and policy solutions are conceived. Zoning and policy development are exciting to you, and you understand how a plan must be both effective and approachable, both textually and visually (the best-laid plans look the part). You wake up before your alarm clock, having realized better phrasing for that policy text you've been working on, and type it into your notes before you forget it. You are not afraid to try bold new plan design and policy strategies and love collaborating with colleagues in urban design and climate action planning.
