What You’ll Do
The Accounts Receivable Supervisor, Cash Application will be responsible for (the supervision of the cash app and freight payment specialists, the management of daily bank account activity, cash reconciliation and assistance with the month end cash reporting.
- Assist and direct the Cash App team in daily activities, employee development and annual performance reviews
- Have weekly 1:1’s with each team member and provide feedback as needed
- Ensure coverage as needed when team members are out of the office
- Assist in processing freight payment runs
- Process customer refund requests
- Involve the sales team, service centers and other parties as needed in any collection efforts and AR disputes relating to Freight Payment.
- Notify management of unusual requests or situations related to cash application requests
- Identify, prioritize and coordinate resolution of unapplied cash with various teams
- Work in conjunction with Director/Manager of Cash on cash reporting, unapplied cash and KPI’s
- Notify and report to management any potential cash fraud issues
- Monitor and ensure Intercompany transfers are reconciled monthly
- Identify areas of process improvement
- Participate in weekly and monthly management meetings to discuss metrics
- Support efforts to achieve individual, departmental and company goals
- Coordinate with Accounting re: cash discrepancies, intercompany out of balances
- Ensure that all cash related processes are documented and updated as needed
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
- Receives guidance for overall objectives; work with operations and within company and department policies and guidelines using independent judgment to achieve assigned objectives.
What You’ll Bring
- Associates or Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient knowledge of accounting software systems and strong computer end user experience (Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook), ten-key skills.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, add, subtract, multiply and divide whole unit numbers.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Detail oriented with good organization skills
- Highly self-motivated and very good problem-solving skills
