JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Production Operator Date: 5/15/2023
Reports To: Production Management
Summary:
Responsible for cleaning, change-over, operation, and monitoring a diverse range of manufacturing equipment such that all quality and/or customer specifications are achieved in an effective and efficient manner. This position also assists in shipping, receiving, and inventory control functions as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Generate a thorough understanding of, and compliance to, company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs)
- Comply with company current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHPs)
- Comply with all company safety requirements
- Prepare manufacturing equipment for use, to include:
- Clean manufacturing equipment and rooms
- Set-up manufacturing equipment per SOPs and WIs for the next run
- Gather all necessary paperwork and supplies to start processing
- Verify product for use in the manufacture of each production lot
- Manufacture product by:
- Follow the instructions outlined in the batch record
- Document all required processing steps in the batch record
- Make adjustments as necessary to keep all parameters within specified limits
- Reconcile the final product yield
- Support training of new operators
- Generate ideas to help continuously improve the company’s performance
- Operate forklift and/or other powered equipment in a safe manner
- Other duties as required
- Overtime as required
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good math and reading skills
- Ability to understand and follow directions and to work with minimal supervision

- Motivated to learn new skills
- Ability and willingness to THINK and generate new ideas
- Experience operating powered forklifts is helpful but not required
- Experience in FDA regulated industries is helpful but not required
- Prior manufacturing experience is helpful but not required
- Some mechanical ability is helpful but not required
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, or equivalent, is required.
- Must complete training program with 6 months of start date
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- N/A
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and maneuver weights up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to work with a wide range of raw materials
- Good dexterity
Personal Protective Equipment:
- As required by batch record and SOPs which may include: lab coats, dust masks, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing and Warehouse environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
