What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Advisory, North America position at Ascential?
We're looking for a Director of Advisory to join our team in Boston as part of our Professional Services function.
The Director of Advisory is responsible for scoping, leading, and delivering advisory projects for our more than 600 brand, retailer, and service provider clients around the world. The role works in conjunction with our global Advisory and Insights team to help our clients win in digital retail.
Key Accountabilities
- Meet or exceed established revenue, contribution margin, & business development goals for the North American Advisory team.
- Lead client projects & engagements from the initial client question to ideation, planning, scheduling, research and final delivery.
- Manage project teams through clear planning and delivery processes, coaching on research, providing feedback and edits on team members' work.
- Provide actionable insight for clients on future strategies, tied to client's core business objectives, structure and measurements, and identify potential growth opportunities and necessary capabilities for growth.
- Present research to clients both virtually (through webinars & videoconferences) and in-person (at briefings/speeches, workshops and company-led events).
- Development of the North American team of analysts - setting KPIs, providing coaching and measuring performance / capacity.
- Drive thought leadership to ensure we stay ahead of the most important global industry trends & strategic initiatives.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required
- Qualified to MBA level or equivalent work experience.
- An experienced professional services individual with a proven track record of supporting sales engagements.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in FMCG, Retail, or Consulting sectors with specific focus on Digital Commerce.
- Demonstrated success having led consulting engagements and/or strategic projects to senior stakeholders.
- Very strong presentation and story-telling skills
- Excellent client management skills - Builds professional relationships with client stakeholders,
- Establishes rapport with key client influencers, able to address client feedback, drive retention and repeat engagements.
- Experienced in people management, supporting individuals’ career development & growth on your team.
