We have an opportunity for a System Administrator to support our government customer at PMA-271 within a System Integration Laboratory (SIL) environment at NAS Pax River in Lexington Park, MD.
As a System Administrator, your responsibilities include:
- Implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides.
- Administering boundary devices (i.e., managed switches, proxy servers, routers, firewalls, cryptography, and intrusion detection systems).
- Performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks.
- Correcting flaws and implementing technical controls in the hardware or software installed within a network environment.
- Managing DoD Host-Based-Security Systems (HBSS) alongside conducting technical and non-technical reviews and audits.
- Coordinating duties with the Information Technology (IT) staff to ensure all Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements are implemented and functional.
- Maintaining servers and storage devices, addressing trouble tickets (when needed), coordinating with external organizations, and identifying new software/hardware solutions to increase productivity.
- Providing security validation of complex engineering analysis and support for firewalls, routers, networks, and operating systems.
- Developing training material for general users covering the implementation of new policy or procedures, new security program initiatives, etc. Along with collaborating with Change, Problem, and Release Management for security impacts to the environment.
Requirements
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- B.S. degree in information technology, computer science, electrical engineering, or related engineering degree is required.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and Microsoft operating systems required.
- 3-5 years of internships or work experience in network administration; 10 years preferred.
- Knowledge of performing ACAS/SCAP/STIG requirements for ATO needs is preferred.
- Possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Technical Level II in accordance with DoD 8570.01 (i.e., GSEC, Security CE, SSCP and Vendor certification and IT Training Provider certificate for network environment main operating system).
- Familiarity with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). Implementing thin/zero client technology within a virtual environment is desired.
- Secret clearance required. Top Secret preferred.
Security Clearance Requirements: This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
