What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Principal position at Ashe County Schools?
Ashe County Schools is seeking to hire a full-time, 12-month, Assistant Principal for Mountain View Elementary School. Mountain View Elementary is a school that has consistently performed at a high level with a focus on STEM education. Additionally, Mountain View is a school of high growth per NC School Report Card data with a student population of just under 500 students.
The assistant principal assists the principal to provide leadership that supports the district and school vision, and contributes to the growth, success, and educational development of each student and the total school program.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree in school administration from an accredited institution
- Three (3) or more years of experience as a classroom teacher preferred
- Experience in school administration preferred
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Valid NC Professional Educator License in any applicable area
- Valid NC School Administrator License (0011 or 0012)
- Valid driver's license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
Pay grade is based on the NC DPI assistant principal salary scale.
