Insurance Follow Up
Applicant will have a minimum of 5 years proven work experience in a high volume medical billing environment as an insurance follow up specialist for physicians. Applicant must have in-depth knowledge of all aspects of insurance billing and comprehensive understanding of EOBs. Experience and knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding required. Multi-specialty billing experience a plus.
Some of the work duties include: Working with accounts receivables which will include the following:
- Addressing zero EOBs
- Composing letters of appeal
- Investigating un-paid claims
- Must be proficient in CCI edits
- Proficient in ICD-10 (LCD Edits)
- English communications skills required
- Experience in private pay, Medicare and Medi-Cal Insurances, and HMO billing requirements.
- Ability to interpret EOBs
- Call insurance to verify benefits
Work responsibilities include:
- Follow-up with insurance companies regarding un-paid claims by phone or on-line
- Follow-up with insurance companies regarding denials of payment and initiate appeals
- Re-bill claims as needed
- Answer calls and questions from patients regarding payments and their individual accounts
- Request EOBs from insurance companies for payments, etc.
Applicant will need to be able to multi task and work well independently. Excellent English oral and written communication skills are required as well as customer service experience to resolve billing problems. Ideal applicants will be hardworking, punctual, accurate, and detail oriented. Applicant must have proven billing experience. Applicant ideally lives in San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, or surrounding areas facilitating a reasonable commute. (Preferably no more than 20 miles and/or 30 minutes)
