Job Description
Endoscopy Tech (Trainee): The Endoscopy Tech is a member of the Endoscopy Department and ensures instrumentation is sterile and ready to use. Cleans, disinfects and sterilize all scopes and related Endoscopy instruments for all areas.
(Trainee is required to achieve EndoScope certification within 12 months after hire date.)
The Caregiver will demonstrate the application of the principles of asepsis and endoscopy suite preparation, equipment care and cleaning.

Additional Responsibilities Include
- Clerical/computer work including but not limited to statistical data collection, copying, charge entry and chart preparation.
- Maintains work environment in a safe, clean, orderly manner.
- Performs documents and monitors all quality control tools.
- Receives and inventories departmental supplies, instrumentation and equipment.
- Prepares instrumentation and equipment according to recommended procedures and techniques in preparation for high-level disinfection and sterilization.
- Operates all departmental equipment safely and effectively.
- Assists with scheduling endoscopy procedures as needed.
- Assists with patient care as directed.
- Transports patients as needed.

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions required
- Current BLS certification.
- Endoscopy Scope for Processing within 12 of hire.
- Knowledge of Aseptic Technique required.
- Knowledge in basic medical terminology & basic personal computer skills.
- Requirements for this position include; standing in one area up to eight hours, wearing appropriate ppe (personal protective equipment); sitting in a confined area for eight hours using a computer screen and the ability to perform small repetitive motor tasks (e.g., typing, filing, responding to telephone) are necessary.
- This job also requires that an individual be able to work under periods of high stress.
