What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Language Pathologist position at Ashtabula County Medical Center?
To provide direct patient care in Speech Pathology and to perform other related duties to assure smooth, coordinated running in the department within the Acute Hospital, and/or Outpatient Center. To identify, diagnose, and treat patients with communication and swallowing disorders. To participate in performance improvement studies and activities.
- Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Master`s Degree in Speech Language Pathology ot the equivalent as determined by Ohio Revised Code 4753. Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills.
- Required Length and Type of Experience
- Minimum of nine (9) months clinical experience in the field of Speech Language Pathology preferred. Will accept a clinical fellowship year speech pathologist in exceptional cases where staff level supervision is available. Experience performing modified barium swallows preferred.
- Required Licensure or Certification
- Certificate of clinical competency in speech pathology or eligible (student permit as necessary). Licensed by the State of Ohio Board of Speech Pathology & Audiology.
