The Ashville Police is accepting applications for Full-Time and Reserve Positions.

Position Description:

FULL-TIME and Reserve Officers perform law enforcement duties, under the general supervision of an assigned Sergeant or designee.

Salary $24.95 to $31.50 Plus shift diff for 2nd and 3rd shifts (Full-Time)

May include, but are not limited to:

  • Patrolling the Village
  • Assist with processing the arrest and booking of a prisoner.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date reports
  • Assisting with special duties and projects.
  • Answers calls and complaints received by radio, telephone, or in person involving emergency, disorder, and crime.
  • Interviews persons with complaints or inquiries, take statements and tends to the proper disposition of the information or directs them to proper authorities.
  • Conducts preliminary investigations, gathers evidence and locates witnesses.
  • Appears in court to present evidence and/or testify as required.
  • Conducts police-related community awareness and public relations work.
  • May administer basic first aid.
  • The examples of work performed are not intended to be all-inclusive. The Village of Ashville reserves the right to assign additional duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of the twelfth school grade. Substitution(s): A certificate of high school equivalency (GED) will be accepted in lieu of the educational requirement.

OPOTA Certification (Police Academy)

Applicants must be at least 20 years old when applying, and at least 21 years old at the time of appointment.

Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license when applying and a valid Ohio motor vehicle operator's license at the time of appointment.

A citizen of the United States.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.95 - $31.50 per hour
