POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Steward Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage FACILITY: ONTARIO CONVENTION CENTER REPORTS TO: Executive Chef and Sous Chef CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time, Non-Exempt COMPENSATION: $17.00 AN Hour POSITION SUMMARY: This position oversees all Steward functions. Responsible for inventory of all china, glass, silver and serving equipment; staffing and supervision of all plate-up and delivery of all food the prospective functions; set-up and breakdown of all Banquet buffets; cleaning of all Food & Beverage food prep and servicing areas, to include main kitchen, concessions kitchen and back hallways. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Trained of all stewards. Delivery of all food to prospective functions. Delivery and set-up and breakdown of all equipment to prospective functions Attend in-house event-related meetings and relays immediate changes with other departments. Other duties as assigned. Maintain a Health Department score of 96% or higher. Cleanliness in both kitchens. Position is very hands on with excessive interaction with staff and customers during events. Running and maintenance of the main dish machine and related chemicals and supplies. Must quick with counting and simple arithmetic Trained respondent in case of emergencies. Assist food deliveries and receiving Direct storage, preparation and service of concession merchandise. Ensure adequate storage of merchandise by continual supervision of stock levels. Ensure warehouse is clean and neat. Rotate inventory to minimize spoilage. Maintain and reconcile all pertinent logs, transfer sheets and ensure that all transfers are documented. Ensure that proper sanitations procedures are followed. All other duties/responsibilities as assigned. Driving record to operate companies' vehicles Serve-safe certifies. WORK CONTACTS: Daily contact with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Food & Beverage Manager, Concessions Manager and other convention center employees. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises all hourly Stewarding Staff PHYSICAL EFFORT: This position requires stooping and lifting. Substantial standing, walking and pushing and or pulling of equipment. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. to the waste. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works throughout the building. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: At least two (2) years of experience in a Food & Beverage environment. Advanced communication skills. Strong ability to work with other staff members in the facility. Results oriented individual with the ability to meet required time lines. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks. Must adhere to all food codes.
