ASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Casual (on-call) Event Staff for ASM/ The Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex.
This position functions under General Supervision of the Operations Manager, but may report to the Event Manager, Coordinator, or General Manager on event days. He/She will assist in various duties related to the production of special events. Event types include live music, sporting, bowling, skating, seated dinners, birthday parties, and group gatherings. Events may be indoors or out-door functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist other Operations Department staff set up and take down special event equipment and materials.
- May serve as ticketing, parking, host/hostess, customer service, or hospitality staff.
- Helps to maintain clean and sanitary conditions inside and outside the venue.
- Follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- May assist in the skating arena, bowling, video arcade, food court, or any area of the venue.
- Responds to special event requests including lighting, décor, kitchen hand, or party prep as needed.
- Hours may be extended and/or irregular including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- This position is considered casual and part-time, not to exceed 28 hours per week.
- Staff will work on a per-event basis.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED. Six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience as event staff, hospitality, laborer, or customer service staff a plus.
Skills and Abilities
Good oral and written communication skills; must maintain a neat appearance; must be dependable, self- motivated, and responsible. Must work to a high standard. Maintain flexibility in the work environment, and perform well under pressure. Employees must maintain all safety standards.
Other Qualifications
Must be able to work an irregular schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to pass a US criminal background check and be authorized to work in the United States.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events, and be comfortable with high music levels. Ear buds and other safety gear can be provided. Must be able to lift 25lbs.
