Job Mission
We have an exciting opportunity for an Spares Kitting Supervisor at our location in San Diego, CA. This position will be responsible for the production and kitting of DUV products. The position will report to the Senior Manager of Warehouse Operations and will work closely with Material Planning, Warehouse, and Customer Supply Chain Management (CSCM).
The candidate will be responsible for managing the actions of the Spares Kitting team executing the receipt, verification, organization and on floor of kitting parts, systematic transactions and physical movement of all material in and out of the work center. Organize and handle a variety of departmental quality audits including monitoring accuracy and completeness of work. Champions inventory issues with cross-functional departments including Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Finance. Provides analysis for production planning and volume analysis. Participates in process improvement efforts. Assist various internal departments and planners with expediting work center inventory escalations. Assist with plans, schedules and monitors the availability of material in the work center. Audits to insure quality controls are in place for work integrity. Coordinates the efficient movement of materials in and out of the work center.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Regular schedule will be 1st shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm. Position will require flexibility to work 2nd shift based on business needs.
Role and responsibilities
- Supervise daily work activities of Material Handlers, and provide on floor support for physical material movements and transactions within the Spares Kitting work center.
- Create and manage work schedule for the team to ensure all shift requirements are adequately covered to complete work within established timeframes.
- Review and approve timesheets on weekly basis. Manage and approve scheduled leave, provide coverage and re-directing staff to critical functions when others take unexpected or unscheduled leave.
- Evaluate processes and make/implement recommendations for safety, process improvements and continuous efficiency improvements and/or cost reductions
- Provide training related to processes, schedules, safety, changes in policy and delivery
- Ensure work instructions are up to date and being utilized.
- Maintain employee skills competency assessment and performance standards by establishing training schedules for employees and assigning new trainings as needed
- Evaluate Material Handling performance and makes recommendations for merit increases and promotions. Manage employee performance via weekly one on ones and team meetings and executes reward initiatives and disciplinary actions including Performance Improvement Plans when needed
- Maintain and monitor staffing requirements to support changing workload.
- Interview prospective employees and makes selection recommendations.
- Attend critical daily meetings as needed.
- Prioritize daily tasks for the day and assign critical tasks, as necessary.
- Ensure shift pass downs are executed.
- Maintain a system of measurements & metrics to monitor service levels. Develop and maintain relevant Key
- Performance Indicators for management reporting and business reviews. Manage these (KPIs) including actions with clear deadlines when team is not meeting targets on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, & annual basis dependent on KPI
- Apply Lean principles for efficiencies in the work center. This includes maintaining 5S readiness and implementing improvements.
- Manage the safety and security of the work center, for employees, material and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Maintain and adjust space layout plans, as needed
- Responsible for managing overall physical inventory control processes while assisting with root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies by coordinating with cross functional peers and 3PL warehouse.
- Escalate issues clearly and in a timely manner via written and verbal communication.
- Prepare monthly reports and statistics analysis.
- Create key performance indicators (KPI) reportsutilizing ORACLE, Business Objects, Agile, Spotfire and Power BI.
- Analyze and review work centertrends and transactions.
- Process development andimprovement initiatives within the work center.
- Investigate and analyze issuesand prepare recommendations for policy/process action.
- Assist in developingperformance metrics, reporting tools to enhance department efficiency aswell as creation of ad-hoc analysis and reporting.
- Assist with analyzing inventoryusage, business needs and review recommendations to optimize inventory.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and experience
- Minimum of five (5) years related experience in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing or distribution.
- AA or Bachelor’s Degree in Business,Operations Management, Inventory Management or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
- Oracle, Business Objects, PowerBI and SharePoint experience strongly preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel,Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
- Strong problem solving skillsand self-starter.
- Process improvement experienceplus.
- Project management experience aplus.
- Experience working in anContinuous Improvement environment a plus.

- This position is located off-site 3PL warehouse in San Diego, County. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related activity in the work center, trainings and meetings and to further teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
