Reports to: US Customs Compliance Manager
THE ROLE
The Customs Compliance Senior Analyst will work directly with the US Customs Compliance Manager to facilitate the efficient clearance of product through US Customs & Border Protection (CBP) and other Partner Government Agencies (PGA). The senior analyst will work with third parties to ensure all entry data, including HTS codes, MIDs, etc. is provided timely and accurately for clearance. The senior analyst will provide support for entry audits, recordkeeping, and management of the duty drawback program, and will monitor and resolve any clearance issues that arise with third party brokers.
This role also supports the US Inbound Supply Chain team to add visibility to the Customs status of inbound and outbound product.
You will be…
Gathering information required for US customs clearances – documentation, HTS codes, MIDs, etc. – and confirming release status of all import shipments
Working with third party providers to ensure service levels are met and to resolve issues
Assisting the US Customs Compliance Manager in completing monthly audits for compliance of classification, valuation, origin, and recordkeeping
Supporting the US Customs Compliance Manager in relation to a wide range of customs projects, issues, and opportunities arising within the US and internationally
Providing ad hoc customs advice to stakeholders
Assisting the US Customs Compliance Manager with both our duty drawback program and FTZ implementation & management
Qualifications
Essential:
- Must have at least 5-8 years’ experience in customs brokerage & compliance
- An in-depth understanding of import and export clearances
- Extensive knowledge of tariff classifications, particularly in apparel & cosmetics, and the federal regulations
- Must be a self-starter who can quickly jump in to identify entry issues and determine how to resolve them
- Detail-oriented and organized
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior FTZ & duty drawback experience
