Aspen Medical is hiring a Shipboard Doctor to join our team supporting medical services to employees and guests on board a world-class award-winning cruise line.
In this position, you will handle all types of medical events, similar to an emergency room and/or urgent care environment, as well as maintaining an Occupational Health component for crew members. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and customer service driven.
Qualifications:
- Three years minimum clinical experience in Acute Care setting, after completion of a recognized medical training program is required.
- One-year practical experience in Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required.
- One-year experience in diagnosing and treating a broad range of medical conditions is required.
- Intermediate to Advanced verbal and written level of English is required.
- Specialization: Anesthesiology, Intensive Care, Internal medicine, or pulmonology experience preferred.
Requirements:
- Medical Degree from a recognized College or University is required.
- Active, current medical license in good standing in Country or State/Province of origin is required.
- Active BLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS certifications approved by AHA
- Must have valid passport (not to be expiring within 6 months).
- Must be fully COVID19 vaccinated (declare the type, date, and proof of vaccine certificate).
- Must have original qualifications to board a ship.
- Must be able to deploy within 2-3 days
- Must be able to deploy for 45 days at a time. However, you may have the option to extend.

Physical Requirements
While performing the essential functions of this job, all team members are required to stand; walk long distances on the ship; use hands to touch, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear, taste and smell. All vessel positions require repetitive motion of bending, climbing, going up and down stairs, and being able to lift up to 50 pounds. This job requires specific vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
All team members must be physically able to participate in emergency life-saving procedures and drills. All vessel positions require full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Work within different temperature changes - indoors to outdoors. Able to pass a basic safety course.
All medical personnel must wear protective personal equipment (PPE) and are responsible to ensure that the face mask is well fit. They are also responsible for making sure that they are trained in the correct use of PPE. All medical personnel needs to be familiar with the decontamination zones and the correct circulation through these zones.
