We are seeking a OB TECHNOLOGIST II in Wausau, WI at Aspirus Wausau Hospital who is a member of the patient care team and is responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. Assists with providing patient care under the general direction of a Registered Nurse. Collaborates with all OB and surgical team members to assure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. Responsible for his/her activities that can interact with, collaborate with, cause, or result in an effect or consequence to or with other practitioners in the OB and surgical environments.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of surgical care standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from a certified surgical technologist program or related field, and/or three or more years of related experience in the operating room.
- Minimum of one-year acute care surgical experience.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist desired.
- Prior listing on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry or current registry beneficial.
- Possesses expert knowledge and practice of aseptic technique.
- Possesses expert knowledge of sequence or surgical procedures and demonstrates excellent anticipatory and dexterity skills.
- Annual accrual of CEUs/continuing education requirements per Education Council recommendation for the given year.
LICENSURE
- Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
Hours: .9 full-time, 72 hours every 2 weeks. Day/Night shifts. Every 3rd weekend/holiday. On call rotation: 0-24 hours every 6 weeks
