Primary responsibility of the Maintenance Specialist is to install, repair and support production equipment and machines in order to minimize downtime, maintain/improve productivity and support the production operation so that Medeco can provide the products and services our customers expect. This position is also expected to have specialized electronics & PLC skills that will support the vast automation and high tech equipment throughout the facility.
Essential Functions:
- Troubleshoot Electronics and PLC’s
- Mechanical diagnosis and repair of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
- Diagnose, make adjustments and/or repair machines and equipment to maintain & support production
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned and help train operators on daily maintenance duties
- Set-up, plan procedures, repair and installation of building equipment including air lines, water lines, gas lines, electrical, and electronic controls
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by the Maintencance Manager or the designated representative
- Continuously improve skills & become competent on new technologies and equipment
- Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associates Degree in Electronics preferred
- Experience with machine tools preferred
- Electrical License preferred
- Demonstrated ability in electronic and mechanical repair
- Multi-skilled in most, if not all, areas of equipment repair in an industrial environment
- Interpret specifications and technical data
- Use and understand measuring devices and special test equipment associated with the repair of industrial equipment
- Use and understand alignment equipment for precision machine alignments
- Forklift operation experience
- Read and understand blueprints and machine drawings
