ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions team. This role will be based on-site at our manufacturing facility located in Mason City, IA.
What would you do as our Programmer Analyst III?
The Programmer Analyst III designs, develops, writes, modifies, and implements software solutions consisting of applications and/or components. Supports and/or installs software applications and components. Assists with business discovery and works from written specifications and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Maintains accurate documentation of solutions provided. Remains appraised of current development methods and technologies, and assists team lead with proactively refining development standards and practices to improve efficiency & quality of the team.
You would also:
- Develop and/or provide software solutions to the business in accordance with established specifications, and considerate of IT priorities, follow a process similar to the following;
- Assist in requirements gathering by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
- Determine operational feasibility by analyzing problem definition, requirements, and proposed solutions.
- Work with Business Analysts, Project managers, Stakeholders, and other team members.
- Follow work instructions, procedures and established standards in coding and delivering the identified solution on time and on budget.
- Document and test the solution and assist with end user training as required.
- Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan, and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
- Maintain existing software systems, identify, and correct software defects.
- Provide assistance to the infrastructure team as needed.
- Be available to fulfill assigned “on call” duties.
- Develop work instructions, procedures, and coding standards as needed.
- Consult closely with team lead and business management related to projects, milestones & tasks.

- Function autonomously, adjust hours of work, priorities and assignments as required to complete assigned projects.
- Remain informed on relevant technology, constantly seek to expand skill set and request necessary training to augment these objectives.

- Maintain a clean and safe work area consistent with the Company’s housekeeping policies.
The Skills and Experience you need:
- Preferred undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems or related field and/or equivalent work experience
- 5 years related experience developing software in a business production environment.
- A Minimum of 5 years combined progressive experience with requirements gathering and analysis.
- Successful candidates will likely have at least 5 years of experience in a professional capacity with the following technologies: ILE RPG, OS400, SQL , DB2 Databases
- Though not required as a primary discipline, preference will be given to candidates with professional experience with the following technologies: Agile Development / Agile Project Management, Java, XML, HTML5, Rational
- Must live or relocate with plans to office at Curries in Mason City, IA

Salary : $92,700 - $117,000
