Product Manager

This is an on-site position that will be based on-site out of our Curries brand (an ASSA ABLOY company) in Mason City, Iowa. However, this role will be supporting the entire Door Group.

ASSA ABLOY is a global leader in opening access solutions. Our Group focuses on the manufacturing of steel doors and frames within the commercial market. Catering to such industries as hospitality, healthcare, sporting arenas, and educational markets. 

What would you do as our Product Manager?

You will develop road maps, marketing strategies, competitive pricing, positioning, and messaging. You will also fully execute the new product development (NPD) process from concept definition through product launch.

You would also:

• Develop product road maps in line with our strategy of innovation and market leadership
• Evaluate different product category segments to identify new product opportunities
• Analyze product category life cycle including continuous analysis of portfolio performance and profitability and recommend appropriate actions including cost reduction through outsourcing or Value Analysis/Value Engineering, price adjustment, rationalization, etc.
• Develop an expert understanding of competitors product offerings, programs, pricing, and overall strategy.  Maintain robust competitive database including detailed competitive product comparison including features, performance data, and pricing
• Collaborate closely with sales and marketing in the development of technical materials including product catalogs, price books, instruction sheets and videos, product presentations, advertisements, press releases, etc.
• Participate in and/or present at product training sessions, including both in person and virtually.
• Collaborate with pricing team to enact appropriate pricing actions to maximize market share and profitability
• Research and document areas for future product introductions
• Actively participates in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
• Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
• Help to manage digital photography database and sample inventory
• Special projects as assigned

The Skills and Experience you need:

• BA/BS degree in Product Management, Marketing, Engineering or other related field (combined with experience)
• 2-3 years of product management or technical commercial product experience
• Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Project (or another project management / Gantt chart software)
• Previous experience in hollow metal door and frames manufacturing a plus
• Comfortable handling multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
• Ability to hold others accountable to ensure project deliverables
• Ability to communicate effectively via correspondence and presentations
• Ability to travel up to 25%, including to Canada and Mexico
