In this role, you will be working inside a thriving and growing manufacturing facility that designs, tests, produces, and ships Door Closers, Door Controls, and Electromechanical Door Controls used in Hospitals, Schools, Churches, Sports Arenas, Hotels, and large Institutional buildings. Our facility is a dynamic and fast-paced work environment with many possibilities to make a difference and add value to the business. What you will be doing?
NOTE: All job openings are first posted within the facility to allow current employees to bid on new opportunities and to move to different shifts.
You will:
- Involves setting up various assembly cells to assemble all door closers.
- Must be able to work from verbal and written instructions and prepare a daily turnover report at the end of the shift.
- Assigns work to assembly associates.
- Assures components are available to the assembly cells in order to achieve the required production rate.
- Moves materials and components to the assembly cell and assembled closers to next operation.
- Manages component supermarket, and Kanban systems. MUST BE FORKLIFT CERTIFIED.
- Orders materials and components from the warehouse, and if necessary, goes to the warehouse and picks up the material or component.
- Successfully plans and manages changeover of the assembly cells for the different closer part numbers per BOM.
- Must be able to setup and troubleshoot a variety of assembly cell equipment such as: oil-fill stations, test tables, staking fixtures, assembly fixtures, automatic assembly machines, etc.
- Records required preventative maintenance tasks.
- Responsible for notifying the supervisor immediately of any major safety issues, quality issues, anticipated material shortages or major equipment problems.
- Responsible for daily disposition of RGA’s (Returned Goods Authorizations) using the proper procedures.
- Responsible for daily disposition of scrap using the proper procedures.
- Complies with all plant safety regulations and company policies.
- Follows all ISO procedures.
- Maintains good housekeeping practices.
- Other duties as assigned and required by the supervisor.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate:
- Must have experience in manufacturing.
- Must have experience and be proficient in hand assembly methods.
- Must have experience and be able to read blue prints and proficient at using micrometers and calipers.
- Must be a team player in the cell group.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Must be quality conscious and have a commitment to details.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs
Also, we believe the ideal candidate has 3 years or more of previous experience working in a manufacturing environment assembling metal components.
You are used to working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meeting high production and quality standards.
