What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trucking and Shop Supervisor position at Asset Vision Logistics?
As Shop and Truck Supervisor, you are responsible for directing team of drivers to ensure all work is done safely and on-time. You will also be responsible for hauling loads as needed, performing scheduled maintenance, managing maintenance routines and parts inventories.
Duties and responsibilities
- Communicate with drivers throughout the day to ensure safe and on time deliveries
- Performs scheduled maintenance on tractors/trailers as required.
- Haul loads as needed, home daily in state hauls
- Collaborate and interact with customers and clients in a positive, effective manner.
- Train drivers in roles and responsibilities regarding logistic strategies
- Train drivers on safety procedures
- Hold drivers accountable to job requirements
- Develop and implement equipment preventative maintenance program; responsible for ensuring all equipment is in good working order, using electronic system
- Develop parts inventory system to ensure in stock equipment
- Nurture a culture of safety and responsibility amongst all employees
- Forecast driver and routing needs to assist for holidays and special events to avoid any disruption to the normal delivery schedule
- Enforce policies and procedures for product delivery (truck cleanliness, temperature and service)
- Monitor Food Safety compliance and employee adherence to company Food Safety Standards
- Maintain clean shop and surrounding work areas
- Coordinate new customer delivery site analysis for safe and efficient deliveries
- Conduct thorough accident investigations for all driver related accidents
- Assist Office Manager with hiring, new employee orientation, monthly safety training and DOT compliance
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of driving experience
- Minimum of 3 years driver supervisory experience
- Knowledge of workplace safety
- Must be highly knowledgeable in Department of Transportation (DOT) Intrastate & Interstate regulations
- Current MN Class A commercial license
- Must pass pre-employment background, physical, drug screen, and motor vehicle report
- Ability to analyze information, make decisions, problem solve, prioritize assignments and lead an ever-changing work environment
- Ability to interact effectively and appropriately with subordinates and management
- Ability to be a team player, motivate and work well under pressure
- Conduct the business of company with the highest ethics and level of integrity
- Capable of preserving confidential or sensitive information
- Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and customer service skills
- Strong communication skills in writing and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and fleet tracking software
Desired skills:
- Certified to perform State Inspections
- Spanish language skills
