What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Analyst position at Associa?
The Construction Purchasing Analyst is responsible for supporting the procurement and sourcing of materials, equipment, and services necessary for construction projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of resources, maintaining supplier relationships, and contributing to the overall success of construction projects.
Targeted Performance Outcomes
- MaterialWork with material suppliers to generate best possible pricing for LHR. Take into consideration rebates as well.
- LaborConsistently strengthen LHR’s depth chart for sub-contractors. Look to build relationships across the country.
Work to ensure all labor contracts are written on LHR contract form and include required insurance coverages to protect LHR.
Review sub-contractor COI’s to ensure they comply with LHR requirements.
- Budget ManagementCollaborate with the Purchasing Manager to develop procurement budgets.
Support purchasing activities with the goal of ensuring we are within budgetary constraints and report any variances.
- Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function.
Implement best practices and innovative approaches to streamline procurement processes.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Ability to build relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers and co-workers.
- Attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Background in construction, with focus on purchasing and/or field experience.
- Ability to learn and embrace requisite construction related software.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to and thrive in changing work environments.
- Strong ability to prioritize and manage workload.
- Travel may be required from time to time.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Practicing knowledge and understanding of organization’s mission, vision and values.
- Works with minimal supervision and guidance.
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Requires 3 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably directly in Purchasing or field experience.
- Must be advocate of continual learning and development.
