What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President of Operations position at ASSOCIA?
Responsible for the management of the member company’s communities, board relationships, grounds and other assets; by providing direct leadership to the community management team and developing and maintaining the Company’s client relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Must have proven, successful experience in community management, budget management, supervision and controlling the maintenance of properties
-Maintain a high level of awareness and understanding of the existing and emerging industry
-Coordinate with other Division Directors and schedule monthly meetings to discuss operational and client issues
-Continuously analyze the company’s portfolio to ensure the retention of clients and troubleshoot potential problems with accounts
-Ensure the quality control of the work product produced by the management company
-Review all proposed annual budgets before they are presented to the associations
-Prepare status reports for senior management as required
-Attend board meetings as necessary
-Must have the ability to work with the building trades and the ability to consult with staff, boards, contractors and laymen
-Must possess knowledge of the Company as a lay/staff partnership and possess the necessary human relations skills to work with corporate staff, management company staff, and outside vendors
-This position must also develop training programs for community association staff and develop short and long-range plans.
-Must possess strong organizational, managerial and supervisory skills and be able to make sound judgments
-Incumbent must have strong computer skills, oral and written communication skills and the ability to develop, enhance and implement programs and procedures necessary for providing first class services
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The V.P. of Operations oversees a staff of approximately 5-10 direct reports and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
