Associate Attorney

We are currently looking for a Title Attorney to grow our expanding team. Highlights of this position include drafting legal documents regarding property ownership and opinions on title, examining real property records, interpreting and providing advice on title and settlement related issues, reviewing and assisting with title claims.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examining public record, abstracts of title, leases, contracts and other legal documents to determine land ownership and lien position of residential property
• Reviewing and assisting with title claims including researching deed, filing, and other title related legal requirements
• Verify ownership of immovable property after analyzing property assessments, vesting deeds, succession records, and other applicable property and ownership documentation.
• Draft legal opinions on ownership rights.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required and Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree and juris doctor required
• Admission to the state Bar in one of the following states, CA, AZ, FL, TX
• 3 to 5 years of legal practice experience required, including experience with title examination and review. Possess a thorough understanding of the title process.
• Ability to manage a high file volume
• Demonstrated high level of ability to perform research and efficiently and effectively communicate results both verbally and written, including publication
• Knowledge of various corporate structures and arrangements and demonstrated ability to review and recommend alternatives
• Demonstrated ability to effectively assess and balance risks and make business decisions

Experience

• Evidence of status of “Good Standing” according to the DC bar
• 3 - 7 years: 3-7 years of foreclosure law experience.
