POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for someone with knowledge of Substance Abuse Programs and experience as a certified medical assistant (CMA) or licensed practical nurse (LPN).

This position is responsible for helping to coordinate and deliver quality medical care in partnership with therapists and medical providers.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
LPN or, Certified Medical Assistant required.
CPR certified or within 30 days of hire.
Clinical experience required: Certified Medical Assistant or LPN
Experience in Substance Abuse Treatment and/or Medication Assisted Treatment, preferred.
NOTE: All required certifications (to include time and cost) will be the employees responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Greets and directs all patients who phone the facility or are received in-person at the facility.
• Schedules new and follow-up patient appointments.
• Monitors and reviews patient schedules for next office appointments.
• Provides patient appointment reminders and motivates patients to keep appointments.
• Coordinates Physician and Counselor schedules.
• Obtains patient authorization for medical records release and release of information. (HIPAA CFR 42 compliance).
• Prepares patients for examination and treatment, including taking vital signs.
• Performs screening & medical procedures, as ordered by physician (urine drug screens, pregnancy tests, injections, etc.).
• Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Prepares, maintains and sterilizes all treatment rooms, supplies and equipment for treatments.
• May perform routine blood drawing procedures.
• Triage patient calls as needed.
• Communicates and documents physicians’/counselors’ orders/recommendations.
• Obtains patient demographic information and verifies insurance information, at each visit.
• Obtains necessary patient information to meet current Federal guidelines for electronic medical records.
• Obtains pertinent patient information, including but not limited, to patient authorizations and recent lab results delivered by patient.
• Identifies and resolves minor patient billing complaints.
• Assists in ordering, receiving, and stocking of office and medical supplies.
• Maintains cleanliness of waiting room.
• Compiles reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
EXPECTATIONS
Knowledge of medical practice and provision of patient care services.
Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology, basic anatomy, medical equipment, and instruments to administer patient care.
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Skills in taking vital signs, giving intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections, drawing blood, performing urine drug screens and pregnancy tests, as ordered by provider.
Skills in maintaining thorough and accurate records and recording test results.
Ability to maintain quality control and patient privacy standards.
