Bradford’s Inpatient programs are important to a patient’s continuation of care, so they stay engaged in their recovery journey during their treatment program.   In some cases, our outpatient programs may be the appropriate starting point for individuals committed to their recovery. Either way, our licensed counselors provide the necessary engagement and support through individual therapy, group therapy and intensive outpatient programming. Position Summary

The Program Coordinator will coordinate all program treatment services, monitors approved program concepts and procedures.  Monitors and approves all admissions, discharges, and extensions of treatment.  Works closely with Treatment Director, Community Relations, and Counseling and Referral Service staff regarding patient referrals or treatment and delivers community service activities as requested.  Maintain all treatment schedules, staff schedules, and arbitrates treatment staff issues.

Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, "Confidentiality of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Patient Records", and 45 CFR "Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act." This position has unrestricted access to patient identifying information.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Program Clinical Staff

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Directs treatment practices and monitors performance.  Monitors patient care delivery and patient welfare.  Maintains clinical supervision log.
  • Monitors treatment staff growth, development, and training
  • Participates in Quality Improvement Management program and serves on all assigned committees
  • Makes counselor/patient assignments, schedules counseling personnel, assures all treatment events are delivered properly and on time, and coordinates all treatment staff meetings or case conferences
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide clinical supervision or directs supervision to be provided to clinical staff, under the guidelines of Alabama Department of Mental Health & JCAHO
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the Utilization Review process and participates in the UR meetings, representing knowledge of patient status relative to clinical and financial matters
  • Demonstrate ability to mediate patient and family concerns regarding delivery of care
  • Demonstrates skill in interviewing and hiring of Clinical staff
  • Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of regulatory requirements, is directly responsible for all regulatory preparation and regulatory visits regarding Clinical mattes
  • Demonstrates the ability to implement and enforce Bradford Health Services Policies and Procedures
  • Accepts responsibility for on-call status as assigned by Executive Director
  • Has ability to demonstrate all Clinical activities, techniques, and procedures to Clinical staff
  • Develops new Clinical approaches in coordination with the Corporate Director of Clinical Programs
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, must not appear impaired or disoriented, but rather must present coherent and articulate speech, kept appearance, alert, oriented, and responsive to patients’ needs and concerns
  • Stay current with new findings in the field of addictions
  • Regular attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Treatment Director

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 3 years of experience with addictions treatment and management
  • 1 year of experience in the field of a supervisory position
  • Must have good personal interaction skills
  • Understanding of disease concept and dynamics of chemical dependency and recovery
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Social Science or related field from accredited college or university

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable of administering CPR (Certification required)
  • Must be able to see at 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable)
  • Must be able to continuously sit from 2 to 3 hours per 8-hour shift
  • Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful conditions.
  • If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable abstinence
