Bradford’s Inpatient programs are important to a patient’s continuation of care, so they stay engaged in their recovery journey during their treatment program.   In some cases, our outpatient programs may be the appropriate starting point for individuals committed to their recovery. Either way, our licensed counselors provide the necessary engagement and support through individual therapy, group therapy and intensive outpatient programming. Position Summary

The Program Specialist will provide case management in accordance with established program procedures.  Assure documentation reflects the care delivered.  Be available for work as scheduled.

Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, "Confidentiality of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Patient Records", and 45 CFR "Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act." This position has unrestricted access to patient identifying information.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May supervise Resident Assistants

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Transform resident issues identified into program plans with specific goals, objectives and corresponding program interventions
  • Clearly and legibly document the resident’s recovery progress
  • Manage and coordinate the resident’s progress or lack of progress as appropriate
  • Integrate working knowledge of 12-Step Programs and Principles into the program curriculum and service plan while maintaining a professional program focus
  • Manage caseload, documentation requirements and program delivery responsibilities in a professional and acceptable manner
  • Conduct individual check ins appropriate to the resident
  • Conduct educational work shops related to the 12-Step philosophy
  • Conduct weekly correspondence with family to further educate on the disease of addiction and give updates on resident’s recovery process
  • Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, residents and prospective residents
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness as to perform the job in a safe manner
  • Regular attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 2 years of experience with addictions treatment and management
  • Previous training and/or experience to demonstrate competency with a special population
  • Must have good personal interaction skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills

Education:

  • GED or High School diploma required
  • Bachelors Degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Walk within the facility approximately ½ mile per 8 hour shift
  • Must be capable of administering CPR (Certification required)
  • Must be able to see at 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid acceptable)
  • Must be able to continuously sit from ½ hours to 4 hours per 8-hour shift
  • Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful conditions.
  • If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable abstinence
