Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Student Union Services Director, oversees the programming and financial performance of the Student Union including Student Union Programs, Student Union Capital Project Management, and Student Union Services.
Student Union Programs manager will facilitate include: Student Union Programs (Summer in the Union; Student Art Program, Movie Showings, UCLA Watch Parties, and all “In the Union” weekly Programs); Student Government Elections; the Student Union Web Site, Services and Recreation; Orientation Tours. oversight of public areas within Ackerman Union and Kerckhoff Hall to provide a clean, comfortable and properly maintained environment. Actively engages in: leadership development, planning, marketing and management; personnel management.
Assists with budget preparation, and performs financial tracking and reconciliation for Student Union Programs and Services. Develops and monitors office procedures and systems. Maintains department records/databases. Performs reporting/analysis of Division activities. Hires, schedules, trains, evaluates, and counsels student staff in all activities. Assists in other areas of the Division and performs special assignments.
Qualifications:
Requires 3 years of management experience in campus center administration or a related field. Experience must demonstrate effective personnel management, organization and development practices; strong communication skills and effective interface with diverse individuals/groups; effective proposal and presentation development/delivery; experience in financial planning and expense control. Requires PC word processing/spreadsheet proficiency. Related BA/BS required or the equivalent combination of experience and education.
Supervises:
Directly and indirectly supervises part-time/student staff including hiring, training, coaching, counseling, evaluating, and terminating.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, gripping, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
