Summary:
The Team Leader provides a high level of support to team members, including Account Representatives, Account Executives and Sales Executives. The Team Leader maintains an assigned book of business as required. Serves as representative of team to Management. Requires a significant degree of independent judgment and discretion.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Delivers high end service to Clients and team members. Process accounts, including applications in the Agency management system, proposals, change requests, endorsements and certificates. Ensures accuracy of account information for new and renewal polices and endorsements. Audits for accuracy in rating, typing, coverages and signatures. Determines reasons for cancellation and acts to maintain the account. Notifies Producer.
- Markets both new and renewal accounts. Identifies account coverages that should be added or expanded.
- Maintains accounts and activities per Agency procedures. Assists with other accounts as needed. Responsible for all work including renewals and endorsements to be issued in a timely manner.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with clients, carriers and staff. Willingness to assume new responsibilities including performance of duties outside of normal position. Responsible for balance within team regarding workload. Responsible for quality of work within the Team.
- Serves as a mentor, positive role model and trainer to staff. Performs annual Employee Performance Appraisals for team members. Resolve Employee Relations issues with assistance from Human Resources
- Attends client meeting with or without Producer as needed. Works independently with little or no supervision and achieve desired results.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems, in a back up capacity.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Five or more years industry experience. Advanced understanding of underwriting and insurance coverages.
- Full knowledge of insurance markets.
