Asteroid Precision is seeking Full Time MILL/HORIZONTAL CNC Operator with programming experience preferred.

PRIMARY JOB DESCRIPTION

A MILL CNC Operator produces parts by programming, setting up, and operating multiple CNC machines while maintaining product quality, safety standards, record keeping, machine maintenance and supplies.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Responsible for production and operation of multiple CNC machines in team-based environment
• Responsible for general/daily maintenance on machines to keep up with production
• Responsible for ensuring quality of parts through regular inspection during production
• Follow all safety guidelines
• Read and understand blueprints and basic geometric dimension tolerancing (Training provided)
• Inspect parts through use of visual and manual inspection equipment (caliper, micrometer etc.), as well as programmed CMM equipment (Training Provided)
• Make offsets & change tooling per provided layout (Training Provided)
• Communicate with fellow team members, and management, of job status and party quality.
• Complete setups of previously-proven parts
• Train and mentor Level I and Level II Operators
• Basic Knowledge of CNC Programming
• Add/modify tool paths at machine controller
• Troubleshoot currently running jobs and previously-proven jobs
• Generate and implement ideas for Continuous Improvement

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS

· Requires visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect precision machined parts closely

· Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work.

· Physical ability to work requiring continuous standing, bending, twisting and stooping the entire shift.

· Physical strength to lift and carry up to 50lbs. frequently throughout the day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
