Discontinued Operations Accounting Consultant
Fully Remote Contract Opportunity | CST Time
Description:
- Help facilitate the closure of unprofitable operations at company.
- Identify any redundancies due to company selling off their consumables division to a new entity.
- To determine the gain or loss on discontinued operations, you will take the proceeds from the sale of the component/division and subtract the current net book value (carrying value).
- Identify whether there is money realized from taxes at tax time during the discontinuation of operations
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of the Company and the monthly close deadlines prescribed by corporate accounting.
- Maintain effective internal controls and ensure accounting activities are US GAAP compliant.
- Ad-hoc projects to help streamline and update the processes and reporting.
- Provide critical support and collaborate with the corporate accounting operations team to meet the organization business plans and goals.
- Special projects as assigned by the Director of Accounting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Preferably experience in a (global) manufacturing industry
- discontinued operations accounting experience
- Excel (V-lookups, If, then statements, Pivot tables)
- Looking for a consultant who has done discontinued operations in the past
