Description:
Responsibilities
• Support the development of HSE policies and programs within plant areas
• Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of
machinery)
• Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures
• Review existing policies and measures and update as needed
• Perform premise and personnel assessments to identify issues or nonconformities
• Immediately stop and mitigate any unsafe acts or processes
• Record and investigate accidents and incidents and perform root cause
analysis
• Assist with accident/incident trending
• Program lead (i.e., Respiratory, Fall Protection, Mobile Equipment, etc.)
• Primary HSE Trainer, including FA/CPR/AED and NFPA 70E
• New Hire preparation, training, tracking and database maintenance
• Compile and trend equipment issue tracking, conduct job observation, and
audits as assigned.
• Actively participate on the Plant Safety Steering Committee
• Assist with weekly facility Safety Walks

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Education, Skills, and Experience
• Technical college degree preferred
• Capacity to learn and comprehend the production processes
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and other related standards
• Current certification or the ability to obtain OSHA certification through the BCSP
or equivalent
• Developing and leading training programs
• Managing and oversight of safety materials, equipment, and programs
• 3-5 years’ experience in HS programs
• Ability to build relationships with co-workers at all levels in the plant organization
• Ability to review raw data and develop trend information regarding accidents and
incidents and near misses
• Computer skills to include MS Office and the ability to learn and operate software
programs as needed.
