Hiring an HR Generalist for a European Medical Device Company in Torrance, CA.
Note: This is an Onsite Position that will require a presence in the Torrance, CA job site location, Monday through Friday

Description:
- Responds to management and employee inquiries and requests regarding Human Resource issues. Applies and interprets company policy within established procedures and guidelines.
- Prepares and maintains personnel records consistent with internal procedures and legal retention requirements. Updates records as changes occur.
- Coordinates and schedules employment interviews, administers pre-employment tests, and verifies references.
- Checks completeness and accuracy of employment applications and screens related records to ensure applicants meet minimum qualifications for open positions.
- Performs new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward Company goals. Processes new employee paperwork and ensures that all benefits are administered properly.
- Conducts exit interviews and assists in the termination of Company employees as needed. Prepares and processes Exit Interview form, notifies appropriate personnel of terminations, and confirms that appropriate benefits information is provided to the terminating employee.
- Recruits qualified candidates through approved recruiters, online staffing resources, and other service providers. Coordinates posting and recruitment needs with the hiring manager. Follows established recruitment processes and ensures recruitment costs are within established budgets.
- Interviews and assists in the selection of qualified candidates to fill vacant positions. Conducts employment and educational verifications, and obtains background checks. via the third party
- Follows through on all resumes and applications received for Company positions to ensure that proper correspondence is sent to applicants and hiring manager.
- Develops, administers, and updates Company’s Injury Illness Prevention Program and ensures the program and revisions are distributed appropriately.
- Maintains files, forms, and database information associated with personnel, benefits, general information, and recruiting.
- Coordinates employee relations issues with Human Resources Manager to affect prompt and appropriate resolution.
- Routinely audits employee files and employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws.
- Collects and prepares data for government reporting and submits data by indicated deadlines, i.e. EEO-1 (components 1 & 2), VETS 4212.
- Administers Affirmative Action Program and works with outside consultants for compliance purposes.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of human resources policy and procedures.
- Assures that all assigned projects adhere to accepted professional standards.
- Recommends changes in methods or procedures.
- Acts as liaison with other departments, divisions, and organizations.
- Provides work direction to other department staff within authorized limits.
- Schedules work to meet completion dates.
- Reviews progress with management.
- Performs other human resources assignments on an as-needed basis.
- Ensures that the Quality Policy for Training and the Operating Procedure for Personal Training and Development is defined and effectively administered and actively seeks opportunities to continuously improve.
- Ensures standards for ISO 13485 certification are met.
- Participates in internal audits and completes all necessary documentation as required under ISO13485.
- Creates/revises new SOPs, forms, and/or controlled documents.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Human Resources as an Administrator, Generalist, or equivalent level.
- ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of California and Federal labor laws.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Fluency with a variety of word processing and spreadsheet software used on personal computers.
- Ability to get along well with diverse personalities. Must be tactful, mature, and flexible.
- Must be able to properly handle sensitive documents and information that are confidential in nature.
- Must be able to quickly change and adapt to new priorities.
- Must be patient and objective.
- Must be able to ask appropriate questions that uncover underlying issues.
