Hybrid Business Analyst

Aston Carter is hiring for a Hybrid Business Analyst position in Glen Allen, VA!!

Pay: $21/hr

Shift: M-F (8am-5pm)

Logistics Responsibilities:

· Coordinate inland cargo movement to include communication amongst all relevant parties such as customer, truckers, and terminal operators.

· Liaison for procurement matters between branch offices and transportation vendors.

· Obtain ocean freight pricing and summarize all charges to branch office for review.

· Assist with contract renewal negotiations with ocean carriers.

· Analyze market fluctuations and communicate data to branch offices.

· Conduct market research utilizing 3rd party tools to assist with creating newsletters and customer market updates.

· Assist branch offices with troubleshooting of documentation, operational and pricing issues, or discrepancies.

Operations Responsibilities:

• Create, monitor, and adjust Voyage Instructions.
• Issue Sailing Information for assigned Trade Lanes.
• Manage invoice approval for USEC & Gulf Ports.
• Monitor local Agents to ensure compliance with operating procedures.
• Issue supporting documents to Agent for cost report submissions.
• Liaison for vessel incidents between vessel and trade management.
• Interacts with other offices, Vendors, and Vessel Captains.

Qualifications:

• Must have strong time management and organizational skills and an ability to prioritize task based on workload and time sensitivity.
• Flexibility is a key as the position requires flexible hours, including working during non-traditional hours, including night and weekends, as well as travel as required.
• Teamwork is essential however must possess the ability to work independently and be highly self-motivated.
• Must be able to adapt to a quickly changing working environment.
• Able to communicate information clearly to internal and external parties.
• Attention to detail is critical to ensure accurate information is received and processed to correct parties.
• Computer skills in MS Excel, Word, and general computer knowledge.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously is required.
• Familiarity with ocean transportation, freight forwarding, and logistics preferred but not required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
