What are the responsibilities and job description for the Labor & Relations Specialist position at Aston Carter?
Description: The Human Resources Labor Relations Generalist will manage the day-to-day Labor Relations activities.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Employee grievance processing
• Employee investigations
• Manage UAP-Hourly Attendance Program
• Apply policies, rules and issue corrective action up-to and including termination of employment Administering Labor contracts
• Provide Labor Relations training, as well as providing advice and counsel on policies, procedures and contract interpretation
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with management and employees to provide advice and counsel to both on employee-related and organizational matters
• Serve as an employee advocate and as a coach to employees and leaders
• Lead all key HR processes including staffing, leadership development, compensation, talent development, performance management, and employee relations
• Lead identification, selection and retention of world-class talent
• Monitor performance management programs and providing support and guidance to managers and employees on performance issues and assessment tools
Qualification Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in Human Resources and/or Labor Relations
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
• Effectively engaging with other HR team members to accomplish objectives
• The candidate must be willing and able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and occasional holidays.
Preferred Requirements:
• Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
• Experience working with collective bargaining agreements, conducting investigations and managing conflict
• Knowledge of G-Suite applications
