Description:
Performs important patient and public relations tasks in person and on the telephone. Greets all visitors and patients, verifies all patient demographic information and updates patient records as needed. Answer inquiries regarding insurance, referrals, and general office policies. Verifies office service(s), charge(s) and collects payment on services rendered and patient balances. Schedules and monitors appointments for office as well as outside testing, (MRI, CT scans, vascular test, etc.). Maintains paper chart, electronic chart, filing system, referral process and prepares end of day close.
• Promote positive image of the practice through daily encounters with visitors and patients.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and act on each accordingly.
• Data entry - patient demographic information, update patient information as needed.
• Inform patients of office policies, including precertification requirements and the referral process.
• Prepare and maintain medical records, scan dictation and correspondence into the electronic chart in a timely manner.
• Send all patient and physician referral letters and correspondence to outside physicians in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain filing system and new referrals.
• Complete chart preparation for daily schedules, preparing new patient charts, having all charts accessible for scheduled patients, referral verification and pertinent information pertaining to the patient’s visit.
• Schedule and monitor office appointments and outside testing.
• Follow up on patient “no-shows”, maintain patient recall list, and send reminder notices as needed.
• Collect co pays and balances, review patient ledger, collect balances owed in accordance with the practice policy.
• Train new staff members as indicated by your direct supervisor.
• Assist billing office with insurance review as needed.
• Prepare end of day reports for physician verification.
• Maintain office supply inventory.
• Perform other duties set forth by Physicians and Managers.

Monday - 7:30am-5:30pm
Tuesday - 10am-5:30pm
Wednesday - 10am-5:30pm
Thursday - 7:30am-4:30pm
Friday - 7:30am-4pm

-Experience with Availaty software, OfficeMed, iSalus, is a PLUS

-Ability to establish an effective working relationship with the physicians, staff, and patients
-Ability to deal with people in a positive, tactful, and courteous manner
