Description:
The Pricing Administrator will be responsible for making ad-hoc updates to customer prices via item records, pricing databases, and customer ordering platforms. This will require coordinating with Pricing, RFP / Cross Reference, Customer Service, Procurement / Strategic Planning, Accounts Receivable, and Sales team members. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
• Previous experience with ERP software
• Strong data entry skills with low error rates
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Update customer pricing in the company’s ERP system based on requests and coordination with the company’s internal departments or sometimes
external sources.
• Accuracy – Properly researches all updates to ensure data entered is correct
• Time Management – Ensures that all cost and pricing updates are made in a timely manner. Be able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Problem Solving – Follows a systematic approach to updating prices and costs; notifies manager when requests appear to be extreme or illogical and researches all variances
• Interpersonal – Demonstrates comfort in interacting with internal and external resources at all management levels; respects confidentiality of sensitive company and customer information; demonstrates flexibility with regard to changing priorities and instruction; remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things; keeps emotions under control
• Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret requests and internal price sheets. Ability to understand and respond to requests / e-mails from all management levels and perspectives.
• Oral Communication – Speaks clearly and persuasively; listens well and requests clarification, when required; responds to questions promptly and professionally
• Written Communication – Writes clearly and informatively; varies writing style to meet needs of the intended readers
• Math Ability – Ability to apply basic mathematical operations (for example, subtraction, multiplication, and division) to determine appropriate costs, prices, mark-ups, and margins, etc.
• Computer Skills – Previous experience or demonstrated ability to learn ERP software and new functions within software. Must be efficient and accurate with regard to data entry. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, for example, comfortable working with spreadsheet data and familiar with writing / using formulas
• Ability to work independently, has good judgement and consistent follow-through
• Ability to work effectively with demanding internal team members as well as demanding customers
• Business Acumen – Understands business implications of decisions; displays orientation to profitability; demonstrates knowledge of market and competition
