Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Engineering Technician I for the RWESS, supporting the Army Division. The Engineering Technician I position supports the Redstone Test Center’s (RTC) ECE Division in the area of Radio Frequency (RF) testing to MIL-STD 461, MIL-STD-464, ADS-37A-PRF. The Engineering Technician I will serve as a test technician assisting senior technicians and engineers during external RF Army Ground, Missile, and Aviation systems and subsystems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- High School diploma and 1 year of applicable experience in engineering technical work that developed skills in making measurements using test instruments and computing; or 2 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, TEAMS, OneNote) and well organized.
- Excellent written and communication skills are required.
- Ability to work independently or with a highly diverse team to include technicians, engineers, technical writers, and subject matter experts.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Experience or familiarity with electromagnetic environmental effects principles is desired.
- Associates degree in Electronics/Instrumentation/Mechatronics preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist senior technicians and engineers in performing testing to MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-461, and ADS-37A-PRF.
- Operate various test equipment to include high power Radio Frequency (RF) amplifiers, mobile and base station radio communication systems, signal generators, function generators, power meters, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Operate data acquisition systems including in house test software.
- Document test procedures, test methods, and test data.
- Consolidate test data into formats required by the test engineer.
- Work with the System Level Test team to ensure all customer schedules are met.
- Participate in cross-functional training activities within the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Test division (E3) performing a variety of engineering technician tasks.
