- Behavior Technician
As a Behavior Technician / Registered Behavior Technician (BT/RBT), you’ll work directly with children and their families to provide applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy, the most frequently prescribed and clinically proven treatment for behaviors of children on the autism spectrum disorder. In this role, you will implement daily intervention plans for participants, collect relevant data, support caregivers and educators, and collaborate with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA’s) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA) on behavior support plans and skill acquisition targets.
Responsibilities:
- Complete initial intake process with referred families
- Conduct therapeutic services within the home or community.
- Complete an assessment with the family to develop appropriate/necessary recommendations for future success.
- Provide necessary resource and support system development.
- Aid children and families by addressing a range of behavioral issues for the authorized volume of hours per week.
- Participate in children family team (CFT) conferences.
- Provide family advocacy as needed.
- Work with case manager in case management and coordination of services.
- Participate in ongoing assessment and evaluation of the family's goals.
- Maintain and submit weekly progress notes and required paperwork.
- Participate in field supervision with the Clinical Supervisor.
- Consistent communication and follow ups with agency core support team and leadership.
- Behavior Technician is responsible for tracking and maintaining data collection of session activities and programs developed by supervising BCBA.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Genuine interest in working with children with autism.
- Patience, problem-solving skills, discretion, ability to think on your feet, creativity.
- Ability to work well with others and be an effective part of a treatment team.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
- Access to reliable transportation; willingness to travel.
- Bachelor’s degree or coursework in psychology, education or related field preferred.
- Ability to enter progress notes and enter data in agency platform.
- 1-2 years working with children with autism spectrum disorder.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
