The Manager of Media Design reports to the Senior Manager of Visual and Media Design. The Manager of Media Design is responsible for providing leadership and direction to members of the media design team and assisting in the production of media content used throughout the organization. This position works collaboratively with a number of internal and external stakeholders to create media content to support strategic initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and partner with appropriate stakeholders to create content to support key focus areas of the business
- Manage complex project requests from inception to completion
- Collaborate with leadership to recruit, train, and supervise qualified professionals to develop high quality deliverables
- Oversee content creation while applying industry knowledge and skills
- Utilize feedback from stakeholders to analyze needs and suggest innovations and improvements
- Employ a variety of content conducive to communicating with employees, including text, audio, still images, graphics, animation, and video footage
- Assess the current state of design supporting Customer Solutions and Expert Performance to drive improvements, creativity, and innovation in the way content is displayed and distributed.
- Develop the overall layout and production design for organizational initiatives
- Conceptualize creative pieces customized for specific mediums and uses
- Develop and maintain team analytics and processes
- Raise the standard by applying the latest approaches to media, design standards and processes
- Works within the Asurion brand and communication guidelines to enhance existing projects, and create new and custom work
- Oversees the team’s creation process for projects
- Manages content in online systems such as Asana, SharePoint, Slack, OneDrive, Panopto and photo sharing services like SmugMug and Flickr
- Comfortable working in an autonomous, ambiguous, fast-paced environment
- Portray a positive attitude while working with stakeholders and coworkers through deadline-driven and heavy production situations
- Plan and develop current and future media efforts for the Customer Solutions organization while supporting producers on the team
- Help in presenting work to peers, partner teams, and leadership for review and feedback
- Provide creative leadership within a project working closely with management and partners to develop use cases, and high-level requirements
- Provide training situations to share discipline and tool expertise for team members
- Executes redesign decisions
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE:
- Exceptional written, oral, and visual communication skills
- Knowledge of basic business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people resources
- Knowledge of principles and methods for media delivery
- Experience with creative use of media technologies
- Ability to develop cross-functional relationships with multiple departments in creating and executing a variety of content based on audience and outcome needed
- Experience leading teams through major changes, empowering others to lead, and providing coaching when needed to achieve results
- Demonstrated expertise in media capabilities for all stages of production
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines, manage heavy workloads and prioritize tasks
- Partner with team members to drive exceptional results
- Experience using camera, audio and lighting equipment along with Adobe Creative Cloud software
- Ability to collaborate locally and remotely with multiple stakeholders across the organization
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years people leadership or training experience
- 5 years’ work experience in a related field such as digital media, marketing, and graphic design
- Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Hands-on experience with mobile devices, tablets, computers, digital cameras, televisions and home audio
- Understanding of next generation technologies related to cloud, mobile, social, or big data
