JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Prepares design plans for the construction of water system improvements utilizing AutoCAD.
Projects include, but are not limited to, water supply, distribution pipelines, wells, booster
pump stations, treatment, and reservoir projects.
• Responsible for ensuring that all plans use good design judgement and are in accordance
with Specifications, Standard Drawings, Drafting Standards, and Approved Material List.
• Prepares as-built record drawings of completed projects.
• Pursue ongoing education in the water industry and software technologies.
• Independently design and layout a complete pipeline project per specifications, applicable
agency design guidelines, and local codes using AutoCAD for review by an Engineer.
• Must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time.
• Develop and maintains the CAD Standards Manual, the AutoCAD Block Library, and the
GSWC standard tool palettes.
• Trains lower level CAD Technicians and collaborates with entry-level engineers, as needed.
• Provides first level of troubleshooting Autodesk related software issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Works under general supervision.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate of Science degree in Computer Aided Drafting Technology or Bachelor of Science
degree preferred.
• Four years of Autodesk Civil 3D experience required.
• Four years of experience as a CAD Designer in water distribution, storage and supply
facilities.
• Effective typing, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to read engineering
plans and water system maps.
• AutoCAD® certification(s) preferred.
• Proficiency with GIS applications preferred.
May include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, sitting, typing, walking, reading, writing, color determination, speaking and listening for extended periods of time.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
