Overview

The Manager, Operations is a leader of the ATCC Federal Solutions (AFS) Operations team which supports the NIAID-funded government contracts. They are responsible for managing business process development, implementation, review, and improvement to advance the management efficiency of relevant contracts for ATCC Federal Solutions. They oversee biorepository operations for the NIAID-funded government contracts. They track and monitor progress of projects and workflows and make recommendations to improve efficiencies. They support the implementation of plans, projects, policies, and procedures. The Manager, Operations will be expected to contribute within their own teams as well as cross functionally towards the overall goals and objectives of ATCC. This position is on-site at our Manassas, Virginia campus.The Manager, Operations follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. They occasionally develop and administer schedules and performance requirements. They serve as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and resolve problems. They also work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee business process development, implementation, review, and improvement to advance the management efficiency of relevant contracts, as needed. Provide recommendations on how business processes are developed in support of the business unit.
  • Coordinate resource planning initiatives including business process automation, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Oversee various business and finance activities, tracking variances and recommending and implementing solutions to such variances. Track and monitor workflows, impacting deliverables, and subcontractor partner relations in cooperation with contract management.
  • Facilitate communication with applicable internal departments to assure compliance with appropriate regulations and provide exceptional service.
  • Function as the business unit representative for all facility related issues including tracking facility improvement projects, capital equipment purchases, maintenance records, and acquisition records to ensure contract compliance.
  • Review production processes for accuracy and completeness. Take appropriate actions for resolution.
  • Function as representative for all business unit projects including audits, document control, review and/or approval, identifying documentation needs and taking action to ensure documentation is in place, and maintenance upgrades are kept up to date to maintain ISO certification.
  • Lead development and implementation of plans, policies, and strategies in support of organizational objectives. Create and track key performance metrics within business units. Utilize data management resources to meet organizational obligations effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support initiatives that drive operational and functional performance and growth.
  • Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree and 7 or more years' experience, including 2 or more years' supervisory experience or equivalent experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in life science preferred.
    • PMP certification preferred.
    • Experience in biorepository operations, cold chain storage, shipping and/or receiving highly preferred.
    • Experience utilizing an ERP system for production and supply chain management.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to obtain select agent clearance.

    • Ability to multitask.

    Travel Requirements:

    • Travel may be required, as needed.
