What are the responsibilities and job description for the Switch Technician III position at ATEC Wireless?
Description:
At least 5 years of relevant experience is required.
Our quick-thinking and tech-savvy Switch team members are expected to:
- Conduct expert wireless network equipment installation and maintenance Tests, and locate, and repair complex equipment problems.
- Handle configuration and fault management for a range of platforms including MME (Mobility Management Entity, RNC (Radio Network Controller), BSC (Base Station Controller), MAD Routers, Nokia RAN Network, and multi-vendor Ethernet transport network.
- Perform database backups and conduct maintenance of computer hardware and software.
- Work with telecom vendors to meet schedules for new equipment installation.
- Assist RF engineering to ensure the best possible network performance
INTAKE NOTES:
- The position will be supporting market switch operations, field operations, and RF Engineering.
- The resource is required to be on site.
Skillset Matrix Manager Notes
- Technology Requirements (I.E Programs, systems, etc) – Proficiency in standard Office applications (Excel, etc) and familiarity with a Nokia RAN network and all associated transport are musts.
- Familiarity with data center/switch facility requirements is a bonus.
- What does a typical day look like? (daily tasks) – Performance reporting, break/fix activity for a Nokia RAN network, working with Field Operations and/or Ethernet vendors to resolve network issues, and managing contractor access for data center install projects.
- Preferred background/prior work experience? – Prior T-Mobile switch work is strongly preferred.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
