Community Health Nurse - COVID

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently recruiting for a Community Health Nurse. This Part-Time position (30 hours per week) pays $30.71 per hour and is located Silver Spring, Maryland.

Employees assigned to this position are subject to Union membership, fees, and dues in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, and employment with ATHENA may be conditioned upon participation in the client's Union.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Nurse will be answering phones and triaging cases for novel diseases.
• Nurse will also investigate calls for testing and document details of exposure..
• Administer COVID-19 vaccination at County run vaccination clinics
• Administer COVID-19vaccination at County run vaccination clinics
• Performs related duties, as required.

• Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills within the English language.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to effectively work as part of a professional team
• Mid-level keyboard accuracy; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Teams, Office 365/Teams, and in using the internet.
• Independence in using a laptop computer, Microsoft Teams, and telephone messaging system.
• Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• One year or nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
• Nursing license by the state of Maryland

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times.
