Purpose:
As a Software Developer on the Data Integrations team at Athene, you will be accountable for assisting in the estimation and design as well as completing development activities in support of meeting the business requirements for Data Integrations’ projects.The Data Integrations developer builds and maintains effective information software applications developing in Python and using Postgres databases that assist the company in minimizing administrative costs and maximizing information flow.
Accountabilities:
Provides accurate estimates for assigned unit of development.
Demonstrates ability to resolve routine programming issues.
Documents own code and produces technical design documentation with guidance from senior members.
Develops small to medium size applications.
Performs application testing to assure delivery meets the user’s requirements.
Assists project managers in conducting fact-findings, which will result in the formulation and definition of the system scope and objectives for developing or modifying information software applications.
Follows and adheres of internal policies and procedures (standards, controls, and metrics).
Demonstrates basic understanding of annuity concepts.
PERFORMANCE METRICS:
· Meeting software application development timetables.
· Developing streamlined/effective applications code.
· Ensuring code development follows Athene standards and best practices.
· Documenting software applications developed or changes to existing software applications.
· Unit test developed code to ensure minimal defects upon promotion to integration and QA testing.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or equivalent work experience.
2 years of applicable application development experience.
Ability to interpret detailed project specifications and business requirements to develop program logic and code.
Demonstrates basic understanding of Project Management and SDLC processes.
Ability to prioritize tasks within the project and work with minimal supervision or guidance.
Process and detail oriented with the ability to grasp complex business workflows and processes.
Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
