What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician position at Athens Eye Care Center, PC?
Position Summary:
The ophthalmic technician is responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of a comprehensive medical service to patients with ocular disorders. This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and the ability to prioritize tasks and complete work in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:
- Perform routine ophthalmic procedures under the direction of the physician
- Perform glaucoma testing and treatment under the direction of the physician
- Perform refraction and other tests under the direction of the physician
- Perform visual field, color vision, and light sensitivity tests under the direction of the physician
- Perform vision screening tests and clinical examinations on patients with eye diseases, pre-operative, and post-operative tests
- Manage patient flow through both manual and computerized systems
- Accurately document all patient testing in patient charts under the direction of physicians
- Follow HIPPA guidelines at all times
- Maintain cleanliness standards in patient rooms, equipment, and medical supplies
- Follow established policies for patient care at Athens Eye Care Center, PC
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelors preferred. Preferred: Ophthalmic Technician Certification from an accredited Ophthalmic Technician Program.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
