ATI is currently seeking a Production Technical Trainer to join us at our facility located in Cudahy, WI. A successful Production Technical Trainer will meet manufacturing demands by ensuring documentation, training and developing staff. Build training checklists, NEO, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), written instruction (WI) categorizing and training to updated procedures while tracking and documenting all training. Partner with EHS, Quality, HR, Operations, CI, Dept. Managers to ensure training needs are identified and satisfied. Drive best practices between departments. This will be achieved by promoting the company’s values and commitment by means of setting high standards, teaching employees processes, procedures and techniques needed to do their jobs safely and efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand the process to develop and document training initiatives.
- Identify and measure the business goals or metrics training needs to influence retention, quality, and employee engagement.
- Develops solid job skills checklist to partner with other departments for clarification on process.
- Maintains schedules and tracks completion for training goals for production employees via matrix.
- Schedules and instructs new employee needs for expanded orientation to include programs like blueprint reading, how to read a tape measure, safe use of tools and other programs, as necessary.
- Train/cross train manufacturing team members to be accountable for safety, production, quality, general performance (process sheets) as they relate to the safety and training of the team member.
- Creates, maintains, and organizes readily available resources to support learning and performance; includes the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WI).
- Promote the Forged Products safety culture and commitment.
- Partner with the Production Supervisors and Quality to monitor production quality at the shop floor level to ensure the team member is meeting company expectations and to determine additional training needs.
- Assess, track and audit employees’ abilities, successes, and accomplishments in meeting training goals.
- Communicate, verbally and in writing to managers and employees in a manner that promotes a positive and efficient work environment.
- Help employees develop positive attitudes, cooperation, and responsibility.
- Help train employees to ensure job rotation.
- Able to periodically work a split shift.
