The machines range from twisting, winding, braiding, looms, coating towers, extruders and waxers, ovens and cutters. Within certain departments, operators will be required to operate fork trucks.

Machine Operator
JOB SUMMARY:
A machine operator (2nd/3rd shift) is responsible for operating a variety of different types of machines. The machines range from twisting, winding, braiding, looms, coating towers, extruders and waxers, ovens and cutters. Within certain departments, operators will be required to operate fork trucks.
- If hired for the position, candidate may be required to train on first shift (7:00am -3:30pm) for up to 5 months*
- Perform quality work in a safe manner within a production standard either with or without direct supervision.
- Interact professionally with coworkers.
- Work effectively within a functional group.
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for effective communication (5 1) and coordinating work efforts with other employees and departments.
Machine Operation:
- Operate assigned machines according to procedure and product specification. This includes, but is not limited to the retrieving of materials, the harvesting of finished material, cleaning and machine set up.
- The inspection of all material being placed on a machine during its set up as well as the finished material being harvested from the machine. The quality standards vary according to product specification.
- Assist in areas both within the department and other production areas as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Fork Truck license is required for certain jobs tasks. Training is given to all applicable employees.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
Shifts
- 2nd Shift: 3:25 p.m. - 11:55 p.m.
- 3rd Shift: 10:35 p.m. - 7:05 a.m.
- Work hours are 40 hours per week – days and times vary per shift; may require additional hours periodically, including evenings and weekends, depending on company needs.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment (Hearing protection may be required).
- Tools include but are not limited to scissors, snips, box knife. Appropriate PPE will be assigned as required. This may include safety glasses, gloves, hat or hairnet, hearing protection, etc.

- Lifting requirements of 10-25 lbs. frequently and 25-50 lbs. occasionally.
- The ability to stand on concrete for an entire shift.
- Certain jobs may require:
- The ability to walk up ladders or stairs.
- The ability to lift material up to 65 lbs. repetitively, using proper lifting techniques.
- The ability to push/pull up to 110 lbs.
- Starting pay for machine operators is $18.70/hour
- $1.25 increase after successful completion of introductory period
- $2.00 shift incentive for 2nd and 3rd shift
